                                           Procedure

Introduction

    3 mins

  1. Tell the students that they are going to play a game called “Definitions Auction” to practise defining and non–defining relative clauses.
  2. Put students into 4 or 5 teams - each with a team leader
  3. Hand out the worksheet – 1 per student.
  4. Explain the rules of the game:

·         The definitions are for sale.

·         Some of them are true and some of them are false.

·         Each team decides which definitions they think are true.

·         Each team then tries to buy the definitions that they think are true by bidding (offering) more money than all the other teams.

·         They have a total of 1 million VND at the auction.

·         The winner of the game is the team that buys the highest number of true definitions.
