7 Monitoring

Your students are on task - now encourage them!

How do you know if speaking activities are successful?

Before you watch
When your students are doing a speaking activity:

  • Where do you stand in the classroom?
  • How do you know if the students use the target language?
  • How do you help the quieter/ weaker students to participate?

All of these things are part of monitoring. Now watch the video and see what advice the teachers give about monitoring learners during speaking activities.
